Mixed Martial Arts classes at Bristol Dojo Gym are taught by professional MMA fighter Mario Saeed. Mario is currently contracted to one of the largest UK televised MMA Promotions BAMMA and has also fought on other televised events such as Cage Warriors

Our MMA program is suitable for people of all levels of ability. Some of our best students initially came to us with no knowledge so don't worry about not knowing enough - the classes are there for you to learn.

We stress fitness and conditioning, but we do not demand that you already have these and we are happy for you to achieve that as a part of training with us. Forget "getting fit" so you can train for a class, do both at the same time!Bristol Dojo MMA All classes will teach you a combination of technique and conditioning. MMA training is for everyone regardless of your sex or fitness level and you can join in with our MMA training program at anytime.

The term mixed martial arts or (MMA) usually refers a set of rules for combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques from a mixture of martial arts disciplines. MMA rules allow the use of striking and grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground. Modern mixed martial arts competition emerged in popular culture in 1993 with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

At Bristol Dojo we have a fantastic facility for MMA with 30ft Cage Wall sections, 35ft padded combat wall, 55ft heavy kickbag rack , 18ft steel rope combat ring and 1800sq ft matted training area. Mixed martial arts (MMA) is broken down into four main elements, stand-up arts (striking), wrestling arts, ground fighting arts and conditioning training.

To be a Mixed Martial Artist you will need to train in several different arts and then merge them together to form your individual style. At Bristol Dojo our MMA training is based on K-1 Kickboxing, Freestyle Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Bjj).

At Bristol Dojo we have an excellent Pro MMA coaching team consisting of current and ex-fighters who are well respected instructors in their individual arts.

Bristol Dojo GymMMA Class - This class is suitable for beginners but you will also need to learn the specific arts of striking and grappling. Dont expect to be taught how to do an armbar or how to punch here! You will need the classes below to gain those essential skills then this class will show you how to bring them together for MMA.

K-1 Kickboxing & Muay Thai - K-1 has a established itself as the most exciting form of kickboxing as it's been designed to produce a fast and exciting fighter. This class will teach you the most important MMA skill of how to strike and strike HARD! This class is taught by former national striking coach and ex national level competitor Simon O'Brien 6th Dan and Boxing Coach Dave Kennedy. It is based around partner drills, so you will learn all techniques with an opponent, either through pad work, sparring drills or through full sparring.

Brazillian Jiu Jitsu (Gi) - without doubt the best art for ground domination and submissions. When combined with the striking arts it produces a well rounded fighter. This class used the Gi (uniform) to ensure all techniques are performed with precision. All top level MMA Fighters include Bjj Gi work in their training.

NoGi Brazillian Jiu Jitsu/MMA/Wrestling - Our NoGi classes cover grappling where you focus on using the body instead of the Gi (uniform). This class also includes elements of wrestling for dominance in the clinch and takedowns. We are fortunate to be associated with olympic Wrestling Coach Saeed Esmaeli who regularly drops in to help develop our fighters.
